Revenue Realization Assessment
Revenue realization begins after the business has earned the right to bill or collect. The diagnostic separates genuine customer credit risk from internal friction, commercial disagreement and payment-process delay so each balance receives the right intervention.
Segment by cause before choosing action
Ready to collect
The invoice is valid, accepted and due; the issue is follow-up, payment commitment or escalation.
Needs resolution
A deduction, documentation gap, approval issue or dispute must be closed before the customer will release payment.
Needs risk action
Buyer stress, repeated broken promises, material delinquency or other evidence suggests ordinary collection activity may be insufficient.
Make promises testable
For material receivables, record the next observable event: document acceptance, dispute decision, payment-run date, remittance advice, settlement instalment or escalation response. “Following up” is not a next event and cannot support a cash forecast.
Connect the portfolio to management choices
Measure outstanding value by cause, owner, age, expected cash date and confidence. Then identify the concentration that matters most: a few large accounts, a recurring channel problem, one internal approval stage or a widening tail of smaller overdue customers.
