Overseas receivables, EDPMS and the export-realisation clock.
Recovery of an overseas receivable and completion of India-side export-realisation requirements are related but distinct matters.
Recovery and regulatory closure are related—but not the same
Recovering the money and completing the Indian export-realisation process are related but distinct matters. Depending on the transaction, the exporter may separately need to manage its AD-bank, EDPMS, insurance and other applicable process requirements.
Last reviewed: 8 September 2026. Regulatory requirements, transition dates and AD-bank processes must be checked against the rules and directions effective for the transaction before reliance.
The practical distinction
The commercial recovery process asks how the buyer will pay and what recovery route is economically sensible. The India-side export process asks what the exporter and its authorised dealer bank must do about the outstanding export receivable and its reporting/closure position. GGA treats these as connected workstreams rather than assuming that receipt of money automatically completes every regulatory or bank process.
